Deborah Tapp
Deborah Tapp has over 25 years of classroom experience with students PreK to 5th grade, and over a decade leading professional development workshops for those who interact with children from toddler to teen. Her insightful workshops focus on the practical application of and neuroscience behind Conscious Discipline, and leave both educators and parents with renewed confidence for working with even the most challenging children.
Deborah is a self-motivated seeker of new knowledge. Searching out the most effective strategies to reach and teach all children led her to become a Conscious Discipline expert. Her implementation of Conscious Discipline resulted in her classroom being recognized as a model for 21st century brain compatible learning. She is now dedicated to sharing her knowledge and insights with others through professional development, and currently serves as a Student Achievement Consultant with Shelby County Public Schools in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Her educational journey includes continual study of current brain research and the implications of neuroscience for increasing student achievement.
Deborah brings a humorous and insightful perspective to her presentations. Her position as a Student Achievement Consultant offers her many opportunities to practice Conscious Discipline in school settings, while her own family offers constant real-life stories to share. Her enthusiasm and passion for sharing the wisdom Conscious Discipline has provided in all areas of her life – as a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, consultant and friend – is apparent in her presentations. Deborah is an inspiring woman who leaves attendees with the drive to discover a better way through Conscious Discipline. Her hands-on, action-oriented workshops have the potential to change the life of her attendees and, more importantly, the lives of the children in their care.
