Katja von Elbe
Katja von Elbe shares information and inspiration from daily practice of Conscious Discipline as both a trainer and a parent. Her expertise has evolved from twenty years of teaching in urban school settings and working with families functioning under a variety of modern stressors.
Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, she can conduct sessions in either language.
Katja is an Early Childhood adjunct professor, a teacher trainer, a parent educator and a presenter at educational conferences. She has a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Her connection with Dr. Becky Bailey began fifteen years ago while working in Head Start and in the Miami Pre-kindergarten Program for Children with Disabilities. Since beginning her Conscious Discipline journey, Katja has helped many schools and centers to implement Conscious Discipline.
Katja contributes to Dr. Bailey’s work by developing visual aids, interactive learning games and classroom tools/props that teachers can personalize for students to use in social-emotional learning centers.
She regularly shares these tools in break-out sessions at the Conscious Discipline Summer Institutes.
Katja's workshops provide a blueprint for busy teachers and parents to create environments that encourage healthy relationships and optimize brain function. She brings Conscious Discipline to life for audiences, delivering a greater understanding of brain research and best practices with warmth and humor.
